Miya and Jackie

Welcome to deh blog 8D. Pretty much all about guinea pigs, one of my favorite animals. I have two adorable guinea pigs, Miya and Jackie. I’ll pretty much just post about stuff I’m doing with them, and all that stuff.

Today I gave my guinea pigs a new food: apples. I had only really been giving them hay and their pellets, along with some vitamin C treats, so I decided to try to give them something new. I read up a little on what to give them, and out of all the foods listed I only had some apples, so I cut up a small bit of an apple, and hand-fed them. I haven’t done much handfeeding with them, so I thought this was a good way to start out. I started with Miya. The little girl couldn’t get enough of them! She demolished her share, and once she did, she started nosing around my hands, looking for more apples. Then I took out Jackie. She was the opposite. I put a little piece infront of her, and she practically ran away from it. I thought it might just be me, so I moved away a little, but she still didn’t touch it. I decided on just putting the rest of the apple pieces in their bowl, and let them eat from that. I’m planning on seeing if I can get some pepers and some cucumbers. Apparently bell pepers are pretty high in vitamin C, and I read most really like them. Also read that cucumbers are great since they have so much water in them, and on hot days, for them, its like us having a popsicle.
